ODE TO A DEAD BATTERY : AMIT GANGULI
There you lay upon the plastic
Inside the case, within the phone
There you lay mundane, majestic,
Sounding, resounding the dial tone.
Alone, forgotten, you drained,
Till at last in gasping breath
You reached your pre-ordained
Rated discharge depth.
All those who then called heard
Nought but destinies last reap:
My message answered,
Then the ubiquitous beep.
Soon though, a charger
I begged and borrowed.
But, now that you have the power,
What's to become of this ode?
