Haris Sheikh was born in the city of Lahore in Pakistan. In 2000, Sheikh immigrated to Canada and settled in Toronto.  Besides being a visual artist, Sheikh is also a documentary filmmaker and a pro-democracy writer on social media. Sheikh is the CEO of Virgo Pictures Inc. He is also the Associate Producer of the Punjabi language version of the Canadian documentary,Fundamental Freedoms about the Canadian Charters of Rights. Curfew is an art work that reflects the curfew and long blackout in Kashmir since August 2019.
