NEON LIFE:DEB ANJAN DAS
I gaze at the neon glow signs
Simmering at half past midnight, in midtown
Empty buses honk and subways screech
And a lone sax player plays a melancholy note.
The bustling streets, now empty
The city wants to desperately sleep.
But the neon lights glow
Smirking at me...
I keep gazing at the neon glow signs
My eyes get dazzled and the mind fuzzy,
They suck me slowly
Like a moth to the fire.
There, they glow again,
quietly
Setting their trap.
